Enjoy the following collection of photos taken when the Royal Horticultural Society show came to Bute Park on the weekend just gone in the beautiful sunshine.
The sixth Royal Horticultural Society show was the host to a plethora of floral interests with many on the exhibiters coming from the local area.
Run in partnership with Cardiff Council the show includes floral marquees, expert advice, including a radio show with Roy Noble and show gardens.

The RHS Show Cardiff (April 16-18) returns to the parklands of Cardiff Castle to mark the beginning of spring 2010 with the first show of the Royal Horticultural Society season.
This will be the sixth year of the annual Cardiff show, and in 2010 it will be bigger than ever, with even more blooms, garden designs, inspiration and entertainment at the very start of the gardening season.
Following five successful years, the RHS returns to work with Cardiff Council on a show that features:
- two floral marquees brimming with award winning nurseries and their magnificent displays
- show gardens created by Welsh designers, societies and colleges
- a wheelbarrow planting display involving local schools supported by L & G
- an 'Interactive Allotment' reflecting the boom in demand for places to grow our own
- the opportunity to quiz the friendly RHS advisory team about issues such as climate change and its effect on our gardens
- a variety of talks and demonstrations by national and local experts
- countless plants and gardening accessories for sale
- schools floral wheelbarrow competition

2009 Awards Exhibition Tour
The 2009 exhibition featuring: winning, commended and ‘best of entries’
from the 2009 competition, launched in London last year, is now on show in
the Riding School at Calke Abbey, Derbyshire until 28 March 2010. The
exhibition will be open Saturday to Wednesday 11am to 4pm which falls in
line with the house and garden open days.
Calke Park is a rich and varied landscape, from rolling grassland to
ancient oaks, some as old as 1000 years. The park extends to over 600 acres
and was designated as a National Nature Reserve in recognition of its wood

2) Young Awards and Prizes
The Young Wildlife Photographer prize is £500, and is sponsored by

Youth and Community Group Award. The prize for the best school youth or
community group is Serif Design Suite - value £3,000 (a copy of the Serif
Design Suite for each of the contributors (£149)* which contains 5

web design. The school or organisation will receive a 50 User License on
the Serif Design Suite (£2,199) and a Digital Video camera (£149)
